I often see this in classes, and I can see it in my instagram engagement too. Pole dancers/flexibility students donโ€™t like things that donโ€™t look like pole and they feel the same way about the splits ๐Ÿคธ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ. โฃ
It doesnโ€™t need to be a split to help with your splits ๐Ÿ‘ โฃ
There are sooo many exercises that donโ€™t look like a split, that will greatly ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฑ๐ข๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ as well as ๐ซ๐ž๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ž ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ข๐ง๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ค ๐Ÿคฉ. โฃ
Trust me, I know you donโ€™t have a lot of time and you want to do what is most effective! I do too. โฃ
But injuries take so much time ๐Ÿ’ฅ. So preventing them will in the long run, saves you time โฐ!โฃ

Quality over Quantity - The Chiro Co

Quality over Quantity – reps, (p)rehab and conditioning.

I donโ€™t usually like giving a set amount of reps and/or sets of an exercise to do ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. 

I do it with my instagram posts because I know that is what people need, and if they are not injured it isnโ€™t hugely problematic. 


I always say to my chiro, (p)rehab and flexibility patients, and it is relevant to my followers too, quality ๐Ÿ‘ over ๐Ÿ‘ quantity ๐Ÿ‘. 

I donโ€™t care if you do 60 reps of your rehab exercise, if you donโ€™t do it properly! 

Rehab particularly, but also conditioning, is about using specific muscles to make specific joints perform specific actions. If you arenโ€™t being specific, you likely arenโ€™t achieving the full benefit ๐Ÿคฏ. 

There is also the added factor of neuromuscular patterning ๐Ÿง  .. Sounds nerdy I know, but I will explain it, and its implications to nice lines etc in pole, next time ๐Ÿ™ƒ. 

So if you do some of the exercises I post, aim for the target reps of course ๐Ÿ™Œ, but if you canโ€™t do that many at a high quality – engaging the right muscles, then simply donโ€™t do that many โ˜บ๏ธ.

Is that a stretch youโ€™re feeling, or is it ๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ž ๐ญ๐ž๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐Ÿ’ฅ? Part 2. (for part one check instagram for the video)


1๏ธโƒฃ Lay on your back with your pelvic floor + core engaged, with a neutral spine and neck. Bring one leg towards your face with a pointed toe until you feel a stretch in your hamstring.โฃ

2๏ธโƒฃFlex your foot. Do you feel a change in sensation, or an increase in your โ€œstretchโ€?โฃ

3๏ธโƒฃKeeping your foot flexed, bring the leg back down to the ground so you are laying on your back (change nothing except the angle at your hips). Does the added or increased sensation/โ€œstretchโ€ from flexing the foot go away?โฃ

If you said yes to the above two questions, then the added โ€œstretchโ€ you are feeling when you flex your foot is actually nerve tension ๐Ÿ˜ฑโŒ. โฃ
